Please join us for the official launch and book signing of Nā Hunahuna ʻIke Hawaiʻi | Hawaiian Insights by John Papa ʻĪʻī, presented in partnership with @bishopmuseum He Aupuni Palapala Nūpepa Project.
As a special gift for attendees, each book purchase will include a limited-edition reprint of the May 22, 1839, issue of Ke Kumu Hawaiʻi, featuring John Papa ʻĪʻī’s opening account, “Ka Moʻolelo o Kīnaʻu,” which also begins Nā Hunahuna ʻIke Hawaiʻi | Hawaiian Insights.
The evening will include a short program, light refreshments and drinks, and Hawaiian music by Heuaʻolu Sai-Dudoit and Doug Tolentino. The He Aupuni Palapala team will also be on hand to share more about their exciting work to preserve and provide access to Hawaiʻi’s nūpepa repository.
Come by to purchase a book, have your copy signed, and hoʻolauna with us as we celebrate this long-awaited publication!
